Reception Rooms
The Living Room
In our holiday home the living room has the original Georgian elegant wood panelled walls and an open fireplace giving the room a serene and cosy atmosphere – perfect for curling up to read a book or watching a movie. There are two very comfortable contemporary teal coloured sofas that beautifully contrast the wood in the room and the Georgian Queen Anne Wingback antique leather chair. There is a bookcase stocked full of Penguin paperback classics for you to enjoy as well as a discreet 55” UHD TV with Sonos Beam sound bar providing incredible cinematic sound as well as for playing music via the Sonos app or via voice control by Amazon’s Alexa.
The Kitchen
The stylish and brand-new kitchen is comprehensively fitted with matching base and wall units and built-in oven, separate gas hob and new modern Smeg refrigerator.
It also has a range of beautiful appliances including a stylish Russell Hobbs microwave, retro De’Longhi toaster and kettle and Nespresso Vertuo Plus Coffee Machine (with a selection of coffee pods provided). There is also a convenient breakfast bar and off the kitchen there is a toilet, shower and wet room.
The Dining Room
The dining room, to the rear of the house, is south facing and has French doors that open onto the garden. It has wonderfully sumptuous gold and teal patterned wallpaper by Schumacher.
As such it is a lovely bright and sunny room ideal for both entertaining and relaxing. There is a large extendable oak dining table and decadent blue velvet dining room chairs for eight people. The room even has its own bar with electric blue velvet bar stools called “Smugglers” a perfect focal point for entertaining and wiling away the evening with friends and family.
The Smugglers Bar
This is perhaps the smallest bar/pub in Kent complete with its own neon bar sign! The bespoke oak top hand-crafted bar features room for nine bottles of wine and has an integrated Sonos speaker that can be voice controlled from the Amazon Echo Dot or from the Sono app. There are dimmable touch activated bar lamps and three plush electric blue velvet bar stools. The bar is stocked with all base spirits, cocktail glasses and mixer and copper mugs, as well as a recipe book to help you make the perfect cocktail so please help yourself.
Garden
The Garden
The rear enclosed walled garden is south facing and hence sunny most of the day and was originally landscaped by the late John Andrew Brookes and has been recently upgraded within his original planting scheme. John Brookes was a landscape designer and started designing gardens and landscapes in the late 1950s and also taught and lectured about horticulture, landscape and interior design. The garden has attractive painted trellising and mirrored features giving the illusion of space and light. There is new stylish metal garden furniture that seats six comfortably as well as other seating and a fire pit. There is also a gas BBQ for you to enjoy – so everything you need for perfect al fresco dining and entertaining.
Bedrooms
All bedrooms have French country cottage style beds from Barker and Stonehouse considerately made from reclaimed wood. Most importantly we want to ensure you have a perfect night’s sleep. With award winning Eve hybrid mattresses that combine 650 pocket springs, together with the latest in foam technology to provide pure comfort and top-to-toe support. Luxurious light weight goose down duvets are provided (these are changed to match the season) as well as both goose down, and duck down pillows so you can find that perfect combination of firmness. Finally, hotel quality crisp white linen is used, and fluffy white towels are provided.
The Skipper Room
This room has a distinctive nautical feel with antique-style oars above the bed, a free-standing signal lamp, and port hole inspired mantlepiece mirror. There is also an upcycled grey antique Victorian chest of drawers together with a huge super-king-sized bed.
The Sage Room
This room has a tranquil feel and turns up the French country cottage style with a full length white-washed wood cheval mirror, as well paintings sourced from local artists. There is a king-sized bed in this room.
The Beachcomber Room
This room has a distinctive beach feel with deck chair pattern inspired window seat and throw cushions. It has beautiful hand-crafted bedside lamps made from solid oak, and brass that are dimmable together with a double sized bed.
The Tidal Room
This room has decadent feel with a huge inside double wardrobe with full length door mirrors. There is a dressing table with a beautiful round rose gold coloured mirror. Aegean blue traditional deep button backed velvet lounge arm chair to relax in. The room features photography from a local artist and there is a king-sized bed.
Bathrooms
Luxurious Haeckels(R) hand and body cleansers are provided in all bathrooms. Haeckels is a family company that hand crafts products in their cliff top lab in Margate, Kent using locally hand harvested seaweed and botanicals that offer the very best in anti-oxidant properties.
Bathroom – First Floor
This family sized bathroom has a wonderfully modern contemporary look with crisp white walls and earth-tone tiling and marble tops.
As well as toilet and wash basin, there is a separate bath and wet-room style power shower and also heated towel rail.
Bathroom – Second Floor
This Victorian inspired large bathroom is decorated in gorgeously pale-pink striped wall paper, and has lavish black and white chequered floor tiling. As well as toilet and wash basin, there is a large bath with a waterfall shower above it.
